Flying Again
After taking a long break, I’m starting to take flying lessons again. I moved from Citabrias to Cessna 172s, which are easier to fly and safer to land. I also changed flying schools and joined West Valley Flying Club. I’m flying out of San Carlos airport, which is the proud owner of the abbreviation SQL. Very appropriate for a Silicon Valley airport.
After several more hours of buzzing over the Oracle buildings, I will hopefully solo. Why am I flying? This quote somewhat explains it: “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” (Loosely attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci).
